Maddens Bridge Bar & Restaurant

We visited this place with a group of friends while passing by. The inside of the restaurant was extremely dark — you could barely see what was going on around you. Luckily, we managed to get a table outside, which was nice.

The menu was very confusing and misleading. We ordered the short rib for €33, expecting actual ribs, but instead received a very small piece of meat with no ribs at all. Another person ordered the lamb ribs and had the same experience — again, just a small piece of meat. We were honestly confused about what we were even eating.

The service charge was added to the bill, which we understood, but for the €170 we spent, the food was very disappointing. The only dishes we actually enjoyed were the burger and the prawn cocktail. The portions were so small that we were still starving after the meal and ended up going somewhere else to eat afterward.

The staff were lovely, and we didn’t complain to them because it’s not their fault and they can’t change the menu. However, the menu descriptions are very misleading, and I feel people should know before visiting. I’ve never written a review in my life, but this experience genuinely disappointed us.

I went there with 2 kids last night food was pricey but I thought we wud get good food but I was wrong the food was a big let down I used to go in there everytime I go up to bundoran but dont think I will go back the beef tast like pure water the chips were rank the the salmon and burger wasn't nice a service charge on top of that I dont mind paying for service charge if its good food and service was ok the girl was very nice

This place, at one time was the best food in Bundoran.
I'm assuming that the owners or at least the kitchen has changed hands.
Price-wise, it's like the prices I a fine dining restaurant rather than a pub.
The waitress, when we were presented with the card machine, decided to give herself a tip.

Needless to say, two regular customers won't be returning.
